    Campaign Office (2016)

Campaign Office is an interactive video installation that generates new presidential candidates. Visitors were invited to launch their presidential campaign by recording an announcement speech, generated automatically from 2016 campaign speeches, and received paperwork necessary to be an official write-in candidate for president. Forty-seven candidates were registered.

Campaign Office was part of Of the People, a group show at Smack Mellon in June-July 2016.

Visit campaignoffice.org to view more announcement speeches.

    Hyperparasite (2015)

    Video:
    Single channel 4K digital video
    21 minutes
Plexiglas, Startech CMYK printer toner, Gatorade powder, Pogonomyrmex barbatus, Voicebunny.com actor 7A0NDHO

    Installation:
    Dimensions variable
Gatorade Fierce Grape and Thirst Quencher, Vitamin Water Zero XXX, Rise, and Revive, activated charcoal, distilled water, plastic bottles
Plexiglas, Startech CMYK laser toner, Gatorade powder, Pogonomyrmex barbatus

Hyperparasite records, in slow motion, ants exploring a landscape of brightly-colored Gatorade powder and CMYK printer toner, a human body subjected to electrical stimulation, and a text based on Amazon.com’s leadership principles and Stanislaw Lem’s Solaris. Part of a larger project-in- development that uses human/insect relationships to explore entanglements between labor, environment, and the body, Hyperparasite presents a sci-fi future in which ants and humans have switched places, ants becoming anthropomorphic and humans mechanical.

    Net Work (2015)

    Self structured table
Industrial table, thread, 547 Facebook friends and their 8142 relationships as of March 16, 2015, spandex clothing, parrafin wax,

    Self reorganization cube
Single channel video, custom display and enough battery to last one week, color, silent; 5 min

Spandex clothing is suspended in a network of threads under a table that stretch the fabric and bend the table. The form of the network is determined by my social network as of March 16, 2015, and so the work will change over time.

A large battery, with just enough power to last one week, powers a display with exposed electronics. The display shows a timelapse film of an intelligent mold forming a network across the inner surface of a Plexiglas cube.

    Flower Stool (2014)

Industrial stool, thread, nearest available flower, needles

A flower is woven into the structure of an industrial stool using thread. The form of the sculpture is partially determined by the flower’s architecture, and partially by the chair’s.
